WHAT’S IN A NAME?

Hopefully the Irish Whiskey part should be pretty self explanatory. And if not, what can we say? We just love Irish whiskey!

But you may be wondering what exactly makes us gurus. Well the direct translation of the word guru is “dispeller of darkness”.

So while the term may conjure up images of sage old religious teachers, hippy dippy wellness leaders, or even baby faced tech-startup millionaires, we’re none of them.

In fact the sole idea behind Irish Whiskey Guru is quite simply to shine a light on the unbelievably exciting Irish whiskey category. That’s it.

We want to do our small part to help bring it out of the shadows and back to its rightful place at the forefront of the the world whisky scene.

So who’s the guru?

We’re not one person, rather a team of whiskey enthusiasts. Irish Whiskey Guru is made up of people who have either previously worked within the drinks industry, or currently still do. We share a love of all things whisk(e)y and a passion for Irish whiskey in particular.
